Mesa is the biggest liar in the industry and, once again, they prove it admirably.

From December thru March they recruited many new hires with the lure of an ATL E-Jet base, based upon a deceitful Press Release, partially trained them, let the drop off the face of the earth, and essentially pushed them off the cliff. The on-line trolls and aviation presstitutes jumped on the BS bandwagon ~ but it was obvious ****** from the get-go.

If you want to see who’s doing what, where, when, with who, and the general terms, pour over the major airlines’ filed SEC Reporting. Signed under oath and audited, they’re a lot more accurate than anything here, put out by the Regional’s PR (a/k/a “BS”) Departments, or proffered by insiders, union guys, and those "living the dream" wearing rose-colored glasses.

The Kool-Aid that United would spend any money, or do more flying, to challenge the Delta fortress was toxic information and anybody who believed JO’s BS is living in fantasy land. Interesting, United said nothing about this but let Mesa run with a completely untruthful story line.

Nowhere did anyone say an atl base would = more flying out of Atlanta. The era does 8 flights out of atl right now. That wouldn’t have changed. So your rant has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Suit yourself, but this is Mesa's press release:

December 20, 2017 12:52 PM Eastern Standard Time
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mesa Airlines announced today it will open a new crew domicile in Atlanta, Georgia (ATL) in June 2018. The additional crew domicile is in response to the Company’s expansion of flying with United Airlines.

The clear statement, "...in response to the Company's expansion of flying with United Airlines", supplies the only logical inference, e.g., flights in and out of ATL. Otherwise, why not open a crew base in HNL and enjoy life when not making the long commute.

The press release, announcement on their website, and lures to new hires of an ATL crew base was another scam from a company which continually pushes the envelope of truthfulness, full disclosure, and honesty.

TBH anyone that goes to a regional for a base that hasn't physically been opened yet is dumb. Regionals always do this sort of thing.

In reality, we have expanded flying with United out of IAH. We fly already in and out of ATL on the Ejet from both IAD and IAH. I am a bit shocked Mesa cancelled ATL, when on top of the bad news for Ejet training, the airplanes that are being sat, and Republic entering IAH, this is just more bad news for a faltering arrangement with United. Maybe, United is giving the ATL flying to Republic or one of the other regionals.

Nothing to be shocked about. It's a rudderless ship, floundering in it's self-created storm, within an environment when even the biggest idiots in this business are thriving. When the "training" department can't process what the "recruiting" department pushes their way (no coordination), and net FO losses each month, the shoddy reputation, abusive personnel antics, and arrogant attitude is the Rx for disaster.

Businesses don't fail, they commit suicide. Mesa's no different and it will be their own responsibility...except if you ask anyone involved - then it will be everybody else's fault.

MAGPBS: did we really add 1,000 hours this month over last month?

What is the difference in the number FO lines this month versus last month?

It seems to me Open Time has less flying in it for FO’s than there has been in the past.

1. Iah gained 800 hours ar to may.
2. There were 155 fos and 153 lines in April. There are 180 fos and 176 lines I may.
3. Opening a new base requires additional pilots. You lose some of the efficiency from having one base when you open a second one. Seeing as how we are short for the base we have, opening a new ones requiring an increase in staffing doesn’t help.

Yeah, I also think we will lose some staffing over backing out of the ATL base. It’s good that a net increase of FO’s are making it to the line.

To be clear the email says it’s just “delayed”. Delayed indefinitely maybe, but just delayed at the moment.
