Flyboy, it's good that you are doing research, but it is all meaningless without a job offer, besides, you will never predict or game the system. It's all crap luck, you'll end up going where they said yes to you. I never have been able to hand pick a flying job, it's always been about opportunities and having the balls to grab them irrespective of the ideal place you think you want to be.
My current place of employment was never on my radar until I watched their presentation at a job fair. The room emptied out because everyone wanted Spirit or Frontier. Again, an opportunity and being at the right place at the right time. I was the only one to show up at the interview couple of months later. Couple months after being hired, it became the highest paying first year job in aviation, and the top 6 after that. All crap luck mixed with being able to spot opportunity.

Recruiters at the interview will only tell you what you want to hear. And while Mesa does have its own issues, I’m always amazed at how every other regional pilot group invariably talks about picking up our allegedly lost flying at some point.

As of now, it looks like Mesa is the best option I have since they meet my two most important requirements of being based in IAH and a quick upgrade.
Thanks.

I was hearing that YV also slowed down their hiring as they are heavy on E175 FOs at the moment.
