My guess is they don't want to announce it until it's closer to the date. If they announce it early, one airline will know they are losing flying and may lose the pilots, thus affecting the operation. Wait until the end so the other company can get spooled up.

I think regardless of long term strategy or who may be "partially owned but wholly controlled" or any other considerations like performance or cost, in the end the key is who has the pilots to fly them. XJT clearly does not. Sadly, this favors the airline who is willing to over hire in the short term and let pilots sit reserve with little flying while they wait for the airplane award.

So Compass has (or did have, people are bailing) 30 airplanes worth of E175 CAs and FOs. Timing might be a little off, but it seems like too good a match to pass up. But who knows what sorts of deals are being discussed. Probably everything imaginable has been proposed by someone somewhere. It'll be interesting to see what shakes out.

I am wondering if United would want to spread the fleet a bit more despite that. But again, status quo usually wins out.

ACMI is 121 time. Southern is hiring with ATP mins. Their contract (with Atlas) is currently among the lower end in the ACMI world but they will eventually get a deal, and then it will be hard to get a job there, just like it’s hard at a Kalitta and Omni currently. Even with their old CBA it’s still better than any regional job.

Not a hope in hell. Southern is a ^^^^show hiring people who have no options. Terrible place to go now. Likely ending is bankruptcy and collapse.

People are pretty happy at K4, Omni, and ATI.
Bottom line is happiness.

Mesa’s website and APC profile both mention Mesa’s “generous commuting policy” but don’t actually say what it is.

How many commuter policies/hotels are you allotted at Mesa?

Lol

During the busy time of the year last year mesa offered commuter hotels. There no standard offering. None. Zero.
