Fact Check-
Mesa 2021 annual report
2018 annual report
1. We only own 18 aircraft
2. They are not LLs
3. The aircraft going to the desert are most certainly United owned. They were originally supposed to be bought by Mesa but we backed out and United purchased them when Covid happened.
4. All contracts with United whether the aircraft are owned or leased can be canceled by United with 90 days written notice.
5. If you think Mesa will ever fly the aircraft being sent to the desert again you are 100% delusional

Mesa does not own a single 175. Banks own them and mesa leases them from the banks. The kingman planes will come back into service well before your 16th birthday.

I came to Mesa flying 172s and such with no previous 121 background. The sim training and checkride are very passable provided you do the work. Non AQP training isn’t this monster in the closet some make it out to be. Study and chair fly and you’ll be fine
in this economy why take a risk and just go for the better option I think. SkyWest and many other regionals has proven safe AQP initial training. Why have the added stress of pass /fail. Correct me if I am wrong but AQP is literally almost impossible to fail unless to totally goof off and not study. Unless you like Mesa bases and don’t want to commute that would be the only selling point for new hires to go to Mesa. Any other thoughts would be appreciated

AQP can definitely be failed. And it happened a lot when I worked there. It was almost always during the LOFT portion. IMO, the instructors come up with scenarios that fatigue the pilots and then they screw up. Easier said than done, but during the LOFT pilots need to slow down, take their time, and do it correct.

Exactly. There were failures somewhat routinely. And the LOFT scenarios could be fair and logical, but also could be ridiculous. One year they were doing an engine failure on short final. Can that happen?? Of course. Anything can happen. But it just seemed like an “out to get you” ploy.

I didn’t know the mesa module on MSFS X let you fly with another on-line flight sim gamer in the same make believe plane in mommies basement You might actually learn how to be a real pilot by the time you grow up.
