Future of Mesa

Highly unlikely. In this pilot market most would go to a LCC or another regional thats most convenient for them. Especially with prior 121 most could get a fat DEC sign on bonus.
The pilots of Mesa and Commute wont staff each others airplanes. Those days are gone (for now).

Thats true and a risky business strategy for JO. How long will UA pump money into Mesa before “the recession” happens? Aka how many quarters until UA owns a majority of Mesa and then parts out the assets.

Right, as far as it being convenient, Mesa and CommuteAir have essentially the same bases. Same bases, same UAX system, and still in Aviate. If somebody stuck around for the flow into captain upgrade, they probably aren't gonna jump to Frontier or Skywest just because they have a DEN base. And it just so happens that CommuteAir has a $175,000 DEC bonus and Mesa has something similar. As somebody working for one of these regionals, the only captains left are diehard Aviate, Australian, or live in/around a United base and are unable to move/unwilling to commute. I really don't think that there would be a whole lot of loss on the CA side. Sure, a lot of FOs would leave, but they are a dime a dozen. United did this, again in a pilot shortage, to CommuteAir and ExpressJet only 3 years ago. I just don't see why they wouldn't try it again
Captains at Commute Fail make the same as Mesa First Officers.
Top pay for captain at Commute Fail is year one pay for Mesa Captains.
Let that sink in.
If the rumors are true and they do a merger, I hope Commute Fail doesn't lower the pay standards for Mesa and start paying them peanuts.

no one is going to leave Mesa to go to Commute Fail. Lol. Starting pay for FO's there is $73 compared with $100 at Mesa, and $101 for captains compared with $150 for Mesa.

Now, it is not known what will replace them. It is assumed thay they are trying to have either an all EJET fleet... Either that, or switch to the CRJ 700.

Yeah that's not a secret or a surprise. They've been doing that for almost a year now and it's been well known that Mesa is trying to get rid of ALL of its CRJ 900 fleet ASAP. That's not a rumor, that's a fact.

An all ejet route is a win for everybody and is needed to happen for the success of Mesa's future. Mesa should set up all CRJ pilots to be type rated on the ejet. And get rid of the crj completely.
