Delta is not even remotely interested in giving more flying to MAG.... RE:Delta v.s. MAG.

You don't slap someone in the face and then invite them over for dinner!

1. getting those 10 crj 700's that have been on backlog (potentially financed by aloha investors)

It's true but not for 10, I believe the number is lower. But they are saying they have to rebid the flying so just because they get the airplanes doesn't mean they actually have flying.

2. getting emb 170's (J.O. been in brazil lately)

Word is it did NOT work out.

3. getting more Delta flying

It's about as probable as Mesa buying Fedex.

4. getting DEN jet base

Who knows.

5. losing 20+ crj 200's

This could definitely be true. The fact that Mesa is trying to do a 3 for 1 deal for CRJ700s with 200s means they fully expect the cancellation of the 26 CRJ2s and 10 Dash 8s.

6. when do contracts end with Delta, UAL, US Air?

A few years. But I don't know if they have early outs

Source: a buddy of mine at Mesa.

that is certainly an understandable perspective, but here's how i remember it:

mesa started dating delta (erj's in orlando, atl),
delta wanted to get a place together (14 crj 900 with mesa in jfk),
before either of them actually proposed to get married (never flew more than maybe 7/14), delta started dating other people (gave most of that kennedy flying to other code share partners), and eventually decided to move out (unilaterally cancelled entire erj contract). then mesa acted like a jealous ex-girlfriend because there weren't any other people to date (filed the injunction to stave off bankruptcy). delta just stopped talking to mesa altogether (cancelled entire 900 contract as well). now their in a custody battle. so maybe mesa can have the kids on weekends (erj's in cvg), or even get back together (bringing me to the current rumor of getting more delta flying).

so there's probably been several dinners and face-slaps. but if it'll make some $, maybe it's worth getting back together.

was that totally goofy?

Delta basically has been forced to downsize their wholly owned in order to keep Mesa contractually. Not to mention the legal mess. Why would they even think of giving them more flying. We're not talking about UA here.

well, maybe mesa is the cheapest. the ol' bottom line.

Good one.........I always thought of the DCI kind of like one of those reality shows like "The Rock of Love" or "Flavor of Love". All these dysfunctional white trash girls (All the regionals) looking to do ANYTHING to gain 15 minutes in bed with this famous dude (Delta) that is probably more sketchy than all of the girls put together. I wonder who is going to get to go home this episode.

If mesa was the cheapest they would get more flying. The problem is they compete for the bottom of the performance numbers each month for UA and probably DAL although they've gotten much better out of CVG. That's just what I heard.

Anybody can get good ops numbers out of CVG! Especially as the flights are dwindling away.

arizonastpilot 08-25-2009 02:18 PM

I heard that they were gonna get bought out by Republic and then put 747's on the certificate. My source told me that FO's can expect to make 38 dollars per hour 1st year, thats higher then any other regionals first year pay!!!

travelnate 08-25-2009 06:19 PM

I think that Republic is the *only* DCI carrier that isn't in litigation with Delta....
