Mesa Rumors

Does anyone have anything to add to these fanciful tales:

1. getting those 10 crj 700's that have been on backlog (potentially financed by aloha investors)

2. getting emb 170's (J.O. been in brazil lately)

3. getting more Delta flying

4. getting DEN jet base

5. losing 20+ crj 200's

6. when do contracts end with Delta, UAL, US Air?

I swear I didn't make any of that stuff up. Similarly, I wouldnt bet that any of them actually happen soon. . . except maybe #5.

ok getting popcorn ready:D I say 5-6 pages before thread gets locked

PurpleCRJ 08-25-2009 11:50 AM

LOL. what does "locked" mean, basically deleted?

A DEN jet base would be nice. But I thinkd #5 may happen and we will see in Oct what happens to the DHC-8s in DEN. (whisper "maybee they will go to the islands next summer")

What's the latest on the UAL contract? That's the only way I see you all losing more 200's. Other then the three or what not being pulled out of the USairways system each year.

The Delta contract is done. It's just a matter of time. Either Mesa is bought out of the rest of it, or delta finds a way out of it. The rumour is incorrect.

The one I keep hearing is losing the 20 CRJ'S from UAL OCT 1st.

They cannot just pull 20 CRJ's without more of a notice can they?

I've been hearing the UAL one a lot too but really do not put much into it.

United has a contract option to cancel a bunch of Mesa flying at the end of the first quarter of 2010, it requires that United give 6 months notice of intent. I forget the exact number of aircraft but as I recall it was all the dash 8's in DEN and a bunch of 200's.

this sounds congruent with what i've heard. ok. so, how does that trade of 700's for 200's work. do you know what i'm talking about? i think there is a standing offer for a trade at like a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio? i don't really understand who the trade is with, though. united, bombardier, a lease holder, etc? can you explain that?
