Mesa Air Group Chapter 11 Info

Complaining about Mesa not having ACARS? How about you try and get rid of it and actually have the opportunity to get paid for your work.
Idiots!

Oh those stupid Mesa pilots actually getting paid for their work. Finally management will be able to pay them only after the before start checklist is complete and they have called for push back! And they can stop being paid as soon as the brake is set. Oh what a glorious day for the rest of the regional world. Mesa scum will now be like the rest of the regional pilots and do more work for free!

What does Airways base performance numbers on when it comes to times? A-14 or D-0? I believe its A-14! All the haters say Mesa lies about push back times. With Airways its A-14 so it doesnt really matter if they get where they are supposed to be on time!

Since there is no requirement to how acars works Mesa sets the acars to record once the parking brake is released. You don't need to have the door closed. If your going to be a little late all you have to do is kick the brake. Mesa pilots don't do this for the companies benefit. They do it to make a little extra money. I know us air doesn't want wholly owned anymore. I hope Mesa has to buy Psa as part of the deal so these psa guys that are hating on Mesa get to become part of the Mesa machine and see why the pilots add a few minutes to their block

I agree with the posters here, Airways needs a set standard for out/in times. When I was a counter drag/ramp rat at an "evil wholly owned" station (that once was part of the YV family), we worked MidAtlantic flights where the out time was recorded by ACARS when all the doors (pax/cargo) were closed and locked. When MDA was kicked to the curb & replaced by Republic, the nosewheel had to move like 3 feet (or is it 6?) for an "out" time to be produced. Our station stats went to the crapper when that happened, as its a good 5 minutes from the time the door closes to when the plane actually moves (I blame most of it on ATC though)....

"Doesn't want wholly owned anymore"? What makes you think this? Not that I disagree, but just curious. You don't find it interesting that now AWAC and MESA contract's are up the same year? Even if you sit down and talk to Doug Parker face to face you can't believe what he says. He was just in CLT on crew news saying home much more cost effective PDT/PSA are to the company over a contract carrier. However he was also on crew news saying how much better life would be if Mesa would just close the doors. Now he is giving them millions to help them out. He said the 190 sales to RAH was just a rumor, one month before the RAH took possession of the 10th UASirways 190. Only time will tell what happens. I wouldn't be surprised if Parker bought Mesa and filled all the openings at mainline with Mesa pilots. (I hope I was kidding).
Just like buying up all of your feed connection carriers was all the rage in the 1990's, divesting regionals is the flavor of the month now. Probably due to fear (rational or not) of another COMAIR strike scenario .
Their only practical use these days is as a capacity buffer...if you need to cut feed, you can ax wholly-owned's on a whim, no pesky contracts to worry about.
