Frikkin Millenials!
There never was a place in this world for us Gen-X ers.
Finally, just recently, able to barely squeeze out from under the thumb of the smothering swath of refusing to grow old Baby Boomers, just to be kicked to the curb by an equally nauseating wave of Millennial brats!

The union recently emails us, saying the company is more than likely going to enforce a fence between CRJ and EMB - i.e. current CA's won't be able to bid E-Jets.
Rumor: Company is going to set base pay for EMB @ 50 seats (vacation, rsv guarantee, etc.) This will allow them to contractually prohibit movement because CRJ and EMB will be "equal" equipment for pay purposes. But how ??? the EMB's will all have 76 seats right?
We also recently learned that one of the first 3 aircraft from United is actually going to be a "spare"
Ok, ready for my conspiracy theory? ... They will gut the spare to have only 50 seats.
Walla!
Ok, flame away

That will put both CRJ system and ERJ system both at 76 seat pay.
If it were this simple, yes a fence would be in place contractually because you cannot bid to equal or lesser PAYING equipment and in this case they are both 'equal'
However we have the little issue of 50 seat base pay for the CRJ fleet, which would make flying on the ERJ side a step up. You can no longer easily interpret them as equal. A pilot's earning potential is greater on the ERJ side.
To avoid this scenario and keep a fence, I theorize they either have to get rid of the 50 seat base pay on the CRJ, or construct it on the ERJ to keep the fence up. At least until the 30 planes are staffed.
I just find it strange I've heard rumors of 50 seat base pay on the ERJ. I was thinking how in the world can they ever pull that off? But again with rumors right?
