I'd rather fly with an overweight CA that's good than a skinny one who can't fly/make decisions or is an a$$. I really don't know what the issue is with this.

Do or do not. Competence outweighs body image. Pun intended.

What's your point? I don't think anyone disagrees that someone with a fitted clean uniform looks better than the alternate.

All it takes is a little ingenuity on overnights to stay in shape. Walk to a gym near by or if you don't want to do that, go for a jog and throw in some push ups and sit ups.

I don't care if your uniform is fitted and pressed. If you are fat it still looks unprofessional.

Haha don't be mad there GQ! At least you'll still look cool in your little pilot uniform.... Let me guess you like to where yours around town so people can see how awesome you are?!...

You must be a fat guy trying to mentally justify the 6 donuts at breakfast.

"I may die of a heart attack at 40 but at least I can grease it on!"

Wear*

Where - an adjective, conjunction, noun or adverb. At, in, to or what some place. Which is not the correct usage when referring to what one has on.

And no I don't. But, I did go to college.

So the military should drop all BMI/physical fitness requirements for all aviators and flight crew, is what you're saying.

1) Obese people have much higher lifetime health costs than in-shape people--I don't want to pay for someone else's laziness and poor eating habits

2) Obese people have an elevated risk of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke--diabetic shock, heart failure, and strokes are all things that can and do happen unexpectedly to obese individuals.

In short, it doesn't matter how great an obese person's Captain skills or personality is--your weight is a liability and it costs me money because I'm paying the same as you into our health plan, and you're pulling more out of our pool of premiums than I am.

I don't mean to come off as insensitive or cruel--I understand it's easy to fall out of shape in this job, and there are certainly genetic factors and bad eating habits instilled in some communities/families which contribute to our nation's obesity epidemic (ahem, the South).

It does not matter how competent or hard-working you are as an aviator--your weight is a safety issue, and the US is essentially the only country on Earth that allows people with high BMIs to fly airliners.
