Everyone who complains about first year pay I can see doesn't see past the $$$ sign... How about other ways to make money, like your duty rig? 4:1? 2:1? Cancellation pay? Per diem? Upgrade times?, etc... I'm not speaking specifically for Mesa, even though this is a Mesa thread, I'm just pointing out more than just the front page $ sign. Yes, first year pay ANYWHERE you go sucks. If you don't like it, fix it or deal with it. Just sayin' .

One last thing. Or your regional airline buys a larger regional airline. The bigger regional airline parks their 50 seat aircraft. 800 guys flow to mainline from said bigger regional. That leaves 2700 pilots to integrate into pilot group because both are ALPA carriers. Being a regional and both ALPA unionized, they will go by hire date. Since bigger regional has been hiring over the last two years and has a large pilot group. Anyone who was hired this last year at smaller regional will be at the bottom of a 3500 pilot group list. Since said aircraft deliveries are only 1 a month average, furlough. Now your either looking for other employment or waiting on your call back. And now your two year upgrade just went to five. At a bring home paycheck of around 30k.

Skillett you are wrong. It goes off of Career Expectations. It's not as simple as you are making it. Seniority list will not be date of hire. Your current seniority at your current airline pre SLI with your current airplanes is plugged into a computer that factors when your upgrade would happen if there was no SLI. Then it comes back with a seniority number.
I had this same worry. But doesn't matter SLI would be years away, if this even comes to be.

I would like to see those numbers and the programming perimeters those computers would use.

I think it would be handled same as continental/UAL. They were both Alpa and it was not simply DOH.

I won't even consider this rumor until I hear Eagle guys rumbling about it. Any such noise yet?
Prior121, did you hear this from a source or are you just speculating on your own? Both are ok, just curious.

I don't know where prior121 heard that, but I was told by a horse in the barn that we *specifically* wouldn't be buying eagle.
