Default Unsolicited Job Offer for Mesa?

Has anyone out there received an unsolicited job offer from Mesa recently. I have an acquaintance that never applied or interview at Mesa and just received a offer for CR9 FO. He's happily employed elsewhere, but interested to find out if this is legit.

Yep, all they need is his bank account information so they can transfer his signing bonus!

Yes! Actually I received one today. No interview, nothing. I was offered a CRJ-900 course starting Summer next year. Very strange.

Yup, me too. Do note that it is contingent on what is essentially an interview.
This represents the first contact I've had from Mesa:

"These are very exciting times at Mesa. As you may know, as a result of our outstanding operating performance as well as our competitive cost structure, we have been awarded new contracts which will nearly double the size of our company over the next several years.

We are committed to approaching this growth very carefully and thoughtfully. By being proactive, we believe we will insure that we have an adequate and steady supply of qualified aviators.

We want to thank you for your interest in Mesa. After a thorough review of your application we are pleased to offer you a class date to begin First Officer training. This offer is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the following:

• a DOT drug screening
• a background and reference check
• a basic skills and general evaluation

Starting Rate of Pay: $22.18 per Flight Hour.

Report Date: June 18, 2014 Time: 0600 Equipment Type - CRJ 900

Upon receipt of your acceptance of this offer, you will be scheduled and booked for Hotel & Travel based upon the origination point you enter below. Travel will be scheduled for one day prior to your report date. Your date of birth and origination city are for ticketing purposes only. Your itinerary will be sent via email at least 14 days prior to your report date.

Although this offer is for a future date, please keep in mind that we are in the early stages of staffing for a large expansion that we expect will continue for the next several years. Beginning late Spring 2014, we will begin training for the E-175 Jet.

We understand that individual circumstances may change and want to emphasize that we are committed to working with you and to being as flexible as possible with regard to this start date. If anything changes please call us to discuss your individual situation.

Mesa is about to begin an exciting new era which will prove to be one of the best opportunities in the industry for our new aviators. We all look forward to welcoming you to our team. Please email your signed invitation to:
[email protected] so we may proceed with the next phase and get you in class

Sincerely,

Alvin Isaacs
Mesa Air Group-Chief Pilot

Someone should call the recruiting department and see if it is legit. Or maybe someone with Mesa can confirm it here.

Sounds like they are trying to get ahead of the curve with basically an open invitation to whoever has the qualifications subject to passing the background check, etc. I wonder if they'll double down with a signing bonus next.

This really doesn't seem as if it's to be believed, no matter how many people come on here and claim it happened to them.

No. I have my app on airline apps and I got the same thing as others here. I don't know about the others, but I have an ATP, jet type and prior 121 experience. Maybe they are making selections based on that?
