Just heard 1 Beech 1900 coming to PHX and 1 to DFW. New base pay for all jet captains will now be based on 19 seat pay. They will be considered "spares" even though no one can fly them.

Keep in mind we don't have An actual no fly list. You can tell pbs to avoid awarding flying with someone but that can be thrown out if that's what it takes to build you a line.

That PBS guide has some good info about priority and system logic. But generally put the "Avoid" stuff first. If you're concerned you might not get a line, you can always add an instruction near the bottom that says Ignore and Redo From.

For example:

1.) Avoid Pairings If Employee 1234
2.) Award Pairings If Layover in ABC
3.) Forget 1
4.) Redo From 2

Just to clarify this statement, if you have a bid in with an avoid pairing with XXXX, you will get a reserve award before you are awarded a trip with that employee number. Avoid bids eliminate the pairings that meet that criteria and they will not be awarded, even if it means a line can't be built.

Just to clarify...this is the only the case if you attach an "else start next" with your avoid employee ### and your next bid group happens to be reserve. Otherwise when PBS goes into denial mode it will remove your avoid preferences one by one to build you a line.

This is NOT true. Avoiding things will NOT send you to reserve UNLESS you have an else start next on it and no bid below it. Or you use clear schedule start next and again have no second bid group.

Avoiding things, asking for days off etc will not cost you a line as long as you let denial mode work the ways it's suppose to.

Navy I suggest you talk with the pbs guys if that's really how you think it works.

Being as frugal as Mesa is I doubt they would spend this kind of money if they were leaving in a little over a year.

Heard today official not getting a hanger in DFW. That info from another CA.
