We all want more. But we have to look long term. There is no way this can go on for another two years. The company and the union understand this. If you are in the Jumpseat on mainline and the subject comes up can you with a clear conscience say that you voted yes on this contract? Now fast forward and you find yourself across the table at an interview and one of the people there is someone that remembers you and remembers you voted yes on this contract. Oops, now what? Now you just a lot more than that $12,000 you want so bad.

"Lowering the rates of future pilots. Do we never learn? This has been done before. Back in the day, it was called B-scale. How could your MEC let this even go to a vote?
Full disclosure, I've been at a legacy almost 10 years, but I have been following how regional pay has been rising. Then you guys do something like this and set the regionals back again."

It's just amazing how every TA brings out the EXACT same arguments time after time again. You'd think someone would learn from past negotiations. People never learn and management continues to have them by the balls. Yea it's terrible but I need to feed my kids. The cycle continues. Your kids can be on ramen a few weeks longer.

I have the right to vote any way I want. I'm just sharing my opinion, which many others also share. Your threats of intimidation go against the spirit of the vote. You might as well lift every passing pilot by the collar and shake them down.

That being said, I think the flack you are receiving is because your "YES" vote is for very selfish reasons, as you have stated. If I'm misreading your comments then I'm sure you will correct me. You most likely came here under pretenses of getting a quick upgrade and moving on. If you plan on moving on, why not leave your following pilots with a stronger contact?
If you vote no, the contract goes back to mediation, the pay will most certainly not go down, and you can have a healthier contract that YOU will benefit from and one that you can proudly speak about.
Don't be a cheerleader for "this is the best we can get."

I would like to ask the union on here who has been so kind to participate....
What is the status of the litigation against the bonuses?
Is it true that we lost the case or is it still being argued?
If it is true that we did in fact lose the case, what is the purpose of giving the company complete relief from any further litigation on bonuses? Is it simply something they asked for?
I am deeply concerned about signing away this much power to management. If we sign away our right to litigate future bonus pay, then aren't we giving the company unparalleled ability to manipulate bonus money however they see fit? Can't they circumvent our contract with bonus pay and never have to worry about us being able to sue?
Whats this all about?

You absolutely do have that right. I commend you on voicing your opinion and sticking to it. Do as you choose.

It doesn't matter. Those guys that are saying publicly here that they will vote yes obviously have selfish alterior motives because no self respecting pilot would accept these terms. Maybe they really do have kids on ramen, who knows. Good luck to Mesa pilots.
