We are a fee per flight airline. We get assessed a penalty if we can’t staff the flight and don’t earn the fee. I suspect there is a crossing point when the 300% is more expensive than the penalty. Of course, cancelling flights due to lack of crew doesn’t help at CPA renewal time (or if the CPA is breached).

They just sent out 2 identical emails, first one with 300% IAH Captain flying, then 2 minutes later "corrected" to 200% 😂.
Just like a used car salesman!!!
Hopefully, captains are smart enough not to pick up anything in advance or presented this way.
On another note, Hotels seemed to get better since the signing of the new contract, yet have fallen back to unacceptable levels that it used to be at most locations.
In Atlanta, we went from a Hampton Inn to a Hotel Indigo. Now, it's either the filthy Red Lion OR worse, the airport Ramada. Even our mechanics are questioning why pilots get put up in such dumps.
All the new locations we are flying to have unacceptable crew hotels, period.
Please file those IPA Hotel complaints, one form per each single complaint.
Remember, FAR117 is on our side. Anything fatigue related needs to be reported and will be fixed.
Be it noisy neighbours, loud hallways, pool parties, dogs barking, nearby highways, anything that disrupts sleep needs to be reported. A call to crew scheduling in the middle of the night will work wonders if flights get delayed.
I did so on our previous OKC and MCI locations, by far the worst hotels we stayed at. Both are decent now.
I bet that way over half of our crew work force never bothers reporting anything.

Mesa has been able to catch up this summer since most of the mainline carriers slow hiring to a crawl during the summer. Remember hiring at Delta UAL and SW should all pick up soon. AA is hiring military guys a full year before they are available. More guys like us are bound to start getting hired.

Know a guy without a degree just hired at Southwest. He was persistent and it paid off. I think I’m a year or two it won’t even matter anymore everyone will be clamoring for pilots.

Agreed there are some estimated 8,000 to 10,000 retirements at the legacy’s over the next five years. Hopefully in a few years we will be down to a Skype interview and the first question is what day can you start training. LOL.

PBS lines up for viewing, IAH has 912 pairings which is up from mid 800’s, but 612 of those are 4 days with 19:00 to 19:59 hrs. This down from the standard 4 days of 20:00 to 21:00hrs of last few months.
MAGPBS why the drop in avg 4 day credit value? Is min for a line 78 hours?
