DOH to upgrade means nothing. One guy with previous 121 time who upgrades to be on perpetual reserve skews things. Everyone above him pushes him down as they upgrade. Zero 121 time hires are getting the awards at 13-18 months on the CRJ side. That’s a more realistic number.

Perpetual reserve? No, 13 to 18 months + normal time to get out of reserve, according to your own info.

The Ejet doesn’t have perpetual reserves either. I think about 24 months from doh to a line - for now. It depends on a pilots goal, if a pilots goal is being a line check airman (or 500+ hours in the left seat), flying as a CA on reserve is a way to build that time. Or, if 1,000 tpic is a goal, you start building that time. A CA on reserve does fly.

Or, if a pilot just needs the higher pay because the FO pay just isn’t enough.

We aren’t SKW where reserve pilots don’t fly.

My point was you can’t look at most recent captain in base and get any real picture of what upgrade times are like here - or anywhere. It’s marketing hype.

Publishing the doh to standing bid award doesn’t give a real picture of what upgrade times are.... or, publishing the most junior captain in base doesn’t give a real picture.... it is the rule of thumb for the industry.

Funny how FO Xjet recruiters with no idea how to add a new aircraft to a certificate are making this claim. They just keep wandering over to this forum.

First, there is one Ejet sim in STL that isn’t spoken for, assuming Xjet doesn’t use the SkyWest sims in Denver. Second, the SkyWest sims in Denver are horribly backed up.

So, Xjet to have both the 25 E175SC’s AND the first 30 Ejets from Mesa means they need to certify about 40 pilots as Ejet pilots per month - all while obtaining the approval for the procedures from the FAA. Really, only Republic and SkyWest are capable of this type of throughput.

That doesn’t mean Mesa won’t lose the CRJ700’s and Ejets that start coming off of CPA next year. Just not to Xjet.

That would be a heavy blow to lose 20 CRJs and 30 EJETs with no replacements, even if it is spaced out.

Yep. I doubt it happens. But, any regional can lose flying when a CPA is up. Of course, we are already negotiating the terms for both renewals.
