Default Mesa 3.0

This is complete rumor that I’ve heard from several pilots that the plan was to base the 175’s out of IAD. When JO came out to Dulles to pay a visit to the base the maintenance guys told him it wouldn’t work because the 175s won’t fit in the hanger. JO sent out a team to measure the dimensions of the hanger and it was true. To upgrade the facility would cost too much money so he scraped the idea.

Maybe United is consolidating regionals by region? Kind of what Delta is already doing?
So Mesa is losing IAD for IAH? Does this mean an IAH CRJ domicile in lieu of IAD?

No way to know for now. Im not sure UA knows what’s going to happen. They still want scope relief. Have to award 30ish ejets. Extend or end their contract with Mesa. They are really drawing this out probably because of UAL pilot negotiations.

We’re not “losing” anything. Aircraft are being routed differently.

And no.

If an IAD base is all that matters to a FO applicant about a year away from hiring mins, would Mesa be a good choice?

I’ve scavenged various threads for outfits based out of IAD and DCA, with IAD being well within an hour drive, and I understand it’s all the same or slightly better crap with the same taste. I just want to live in base, at Dulles. Is Mesa going to stick around at IAD?

A year out from mins? You can legitimately get hired and start within a week or two after interviewing with multiple regionals. Get your time and your ratings. The cart is way before the horse here.
