This situation with the announcement of the contract renewal with Mesa being delayed has every other regional salivating at the idea of getting our airplanes at the pure style of hungry vultures.
I will venture to say though that our united flying at least the E175 is secured; you don’t get rid of a partner that has achieved “best regional on customer satisfaction and on time performance” that is cheap to operate (at the expense of being the lowest paid in the industry) just ‘cause.

Two scenarios for the future of Compass:
1) CPA with United and company stays as is and basically changes paint from red to
Blue or Mesa renews/extends and its game over for compass.
2) UA (Mana Air) buys compass. Game over for already struggling Mesa. Not out of the realm of possibility due to the fact that UA is following DL and AA and starting consolidate. My best guess is that UA owns all of TSH in the next year to eighteen months.

Yes i get that. But some seem to think that UA actually owns 51+% of a regional. And they don’t... the worse part is they act as if they do. And that ties the regional C5/XJT to only being a UA express provider. All eggs in one basket...

It’s kind of funny to see how some people love to act like Nostradamus and think hey have figured out how United is going to act.
I might not know the whole history of United but what I do know from the “short” time I’ve been in the regional industry is that United likes to think “out of the box” (aka the most anticipated CRJ550 that everyone knew about) so the truth of the matter is no one really knows what will/may happen

Google the term “shell company.” Then research who runs all the non-wholly owned UAX airlines
