Do you happen to know how many 175s they have on order?

The deliveries may BEGIN in April, but likely not more than two or so a month. Nobody can absorb much more than that at a time. It seems to me the order was 25, I don’t think it listed any options. Was announced maybe this summer so can probably Google for details.

20 firm, 19 options.

But also says is replacing EXISTING 175s. Doesn’t mean it is accurate. More likely to replace 700s, but either way, this isn’t really new flying if these are replacements, which due to scope they really have to be.

De-icing
I was under the impression (old memo? Misinformation?) that we could either de-ice with flaps retracted, or we could choose to extend them to takeoff setting and use the 76% holdover table.
Now I’m hearing, we’re supposed to always leave them re-retracted (and use the 100% holdover tables) .. unless we feel the flaps need de-icing, in which case we extend to 45° whilst de-icing, then set them to takeoff setting and use the 76% tables.

Did you or the inbound crew land on a contaminated runway? Tough to have a clean aircraft concept if the flaps are in the retracted position full of contaminants.

943 and 241 are now no longer in a cpa. The two more that American removed were removed for cause. They could have removed 6. They said they would remove two more - for a total to date of 6 but they decided not to. With the number of 900s we have out of commission for mx these spares will get used.

I’ve been setting flaps to takeoff setting for several years. Guess that ends now.
