Default Navy>FAA conversion post retirement

A friend who retired from the Navy many years ago Is considering a return to flying and maybe working at the Regional’s. Never converted any certificates prior to separation. Is this still possible?

Depends on the AC flown, but generally yes if a civilian equivalent exists:

In for a dime, in for a dollar. If he’s ELIGIBLE for type ratings, he ought to go for them.

If you happen to fly the c-12. Go get a type in the be-200. Kind of fun to see regular civilian people’s reaction to a type in the plane that doesn’t normally require it. Since the navy one is a cargo configured one, it qualifies because of the weights
