You seem to be inferring that just because someone has veteran disability (I do) that they are disabled in the context of movement to the degree that warrants disabled plates?

I've had civilian doctors issue me disabled placards on more than one occasion for recovery from procedures and an accident. All of these required evaluation by the doctor to determine whether my condition was related to mobility for issuance. If one is disabled, but not in this context, I don't see why they would be issued disabled plates. I do see that it would require evaluation by someone to determine whether your disability is related to mobility or anything within the context of "disabled" plates.

I follow the news fairly closely, but I clearly missed this. Since JohnnyB can’t give me a citation, and you vouch for his comments, maybe you can provide a source that the VA requested the FAA conduct a secret investigation into pilots who receive VA disability?

how do you know the intent is fraud? Do you have data to back that up? Do you think vets would be that easily swayed for a better stop in front of WalMart?

That seems to be rickair7777 ‘s supposition…or that he thinks veterans don’t have enough integrity to keep from being “encouraged” to shave a little off the top and go ahead and park at the front door of a grocery store regardless of physical pain.

We eat our own and no one seems to care that the VA and the FAA are secretly in bed to bypass Veterans’ due process rights regarding FAA medical…even if we do take the King’s coins as rickair7777 so flippantly describes the fiscal limits of our freedom.

I provided links and citation here. The moderators deleted them. Go figure.

But then, with multiple threads on this subject already in play, the links have been provided already, for those who will read them.

I’m not inferring anything.

I’m saying that a veteran whose legs got blown off in Vietnam or the middle east can roll into the county courthouse in their wheelchair with federal documentation and a doctors note that their legs were lost in the service of this nation and that they are therefore disabled, but the little bureaucrats behind the desk will deny the application for a disabled placard.

They will give the veteran yet another form to fill out and tell them they need yet another note from a doctor. So the vet has to roll their wheelchair out the door, get another appointment with a doctor (can be the same doctor) and get a second form completed.

Then and only then will the little bureaucrats issue a disabled placard.

It’s pure and ugly bureaucratic hubris and fiefdom protection.
