I would think that internet shouldn't be a problem. Do you have wireless on your laptop? If your laptop is wireless you should be able to conntect to a wireless router over there just like here. Don't quote me 100% though because I haven't been overseas yet.

Wireless should work.
For power, there are two ways it can be done...
If your laptop is newer, it's power supply may be able to handle europower . It may be able to deal with it automatically, or you might need to flip a switch. You must read your manual to find out...you want to know if it can handle up to 240V at 50Hz. If your power supply can do that, then all you need is a small, cheap physical adapter to allow you to plug into a european socket (available in airports).
If your power supply will only handle US power (120 V 60 Hz), then you will need to buy a power converter which will actually change the voltage and frequency to US standards. This will be larger and more expensive.

Nope it wont work. I have a device that I will sell to you for only 10.000 Euros
But seriously, 90% or greater of electronics produced in the past 10 yrs will handle 220-240v power with no problem. I have yet to see a laptop power supply that has a switch that needs to be flipped. With that being said, quite a few desktop do have a switch that needs to be repostioned for 220-240v.
All you need is a plug adapter. The two blade style to the 2 round plug style. I bought mine at radio shack because that is the only place I could find that sells the single compact version and they are only about $2.
Ethernet is ethernet...same plug. RJ-45
Just don't go plugging a US hair dryer into a Euro socket.....bad things will happen. Most small kitchen appliances in the US cannot handle 220-240 either.
