And if you now can manage to take a few minutes to read it, you'll see a lot of the advice he got, and that he continues to ignore, is to do some research on this and the other sites already mentioned.
You think your reception here was snobbish? I'll tell you what, wait till you go to pilot training, walk into the flight room and ask a question an instructor just answered. Your feelings got hurt here? Just wait.
Is pilot training hard? I'd say yes, just how hard depends on the individual. Thus far it appears you have no ability to do any work (research) and are offended that people tell you to. Based on that I'd say you would have a very difficult time finishing the course. Grow up and good luck.

1. 1 - Super easy. never cracked a book.
2. I usually sit around all day unless I'm flying. Nothing else to do...
3. Personal preference - you usually get whatever you want after you test fly them all.
4. Local recruiter - sign the dotted line.

Snobbery? Seriously? There is a current thread called "How do I become a Pilot?" http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/mi...ome-pilot.html where a young man asked exactly the same question. It would have taken you less time to read his, figure out what questions weren't already answered and go forward. Instead you choose to post exactly the same thing.

Oh, and I wasn't offended at all. I don't mind you telling me to search for threads, I just happened to notice the snobby comment. I know I may seem like a smartass, but this is nothing more than an online discussion board. Believe me, in training I'll take anything. Getting some crap on APC for asking a few questions? I don't think so.
P.S. If I'm just another geeky HS senior who went to an airshow, you gotta recruit people somehow, right? What gets most people to want to fly for the military anyways?

I feel for you SoCal, its not uncommon here or on the other message boards.
The same people that whine about having to field questions at an airshow - having been sent there to field questions - while getting per diem and staying in a hotel are probably the same people that whine about people asking mil pilot questions on the mil section of ALP forums.
They could just have replied:
"use the search function for a bit and you'll get 90% of the info you want, if you have anything that you can't find, then pm someone"
or just not have replied.
And airshows are the major recruiting tool for USAF pilots and USAFA from what I understand.
And there's nothing wrong with your attitude in my opinion. You made the caveat that you are young and don't know what you are doing. I'm glad you are pursuing your dream and seeking info on how to do it. However, if you get into the AF, I think this board will give you a small sense of how uptight some guys can be on active duty. It's not generally the atmosphere though, especailly in the heavy world.
Good luck.
