F16 Pilot Being "Unprofessional"?
#21
Once I was lead of a four-ship formation of KC-10s departing McGuire AFB, NJ. I taxied into position on held as per ATC instructions. After sitting on the runway for two minutes, I queried ATC as to the nature of our delay. Tower said there was a Cessna operating VFR 5 miles south of the field at 2500 feet directly into our departure path. After some discussion with my cellmates, we agreed that we could climb over him and thus we accepted responsibility for separation and asked ATC for takeoff.
I can only imagine the look on that guys face as four KC-10s flew 500 feet overhead (he was flying in the same direction so he didn't see us coming). But that is what he gets for flying just outside Class D airspace along the arrival and departure paths of an Air Force Base.

Let me guess, 10 second go wasn't possible here was it.
