i see you edited your post, but speaking as Marine infantry,we had,and have complete respect for Marine Air,especially Helos, the whole Grunt/Wing thing is the friction between guys who sleep in the dirt, and guys who get a rack every night, but when it hits the fan,and you are calling in a mission, nothing but warm fuzzies for VMF,VMA,etc, etc, who are coming in hot ,to help save your tail. Cheers, and Semper Fi. Wish I had the eyes for P-cola !

Anyways - Mach Tuck - did you find out anything to share with us here over there at AW?

I was surprised to find out about both Marine and Navy drill srgnts at OCS, but I found a few videos talking about "a day in the life" sort of things. Also reading up and studying for the ASTB (just got my "master the military flight aptitude tests" today). The PBS series "Carrier" has also been a nice insight, but nothing is better that the information on here and AW.

You will have a Navy Class Officer, a Navy Chief, and a Class Drill Instructor. Of those you will have only passing contact with the Officer and Chief - the Marine Corps Class Drill Instructor does nearly all of your training.

Academics will come later, and be a minor part of your day - taught by LT's.
