USAF limited period rated officer recall prog

Floater, what category were you recalled under? The process is different if you were fully retired prior to the recall, or a reservist who now has enough service for a full retirement, or just separating.

As a retired reserve guy in the RRORP I noticed when I came back on active duty that they reset my short/long tour dates to match the day I returned to active duty. Anyone know what happens when I declare Sanctuary at the end of this set of orders? In other words will they reset the dates to my original active duty dates (I have never had a short or long tour) or will the recall office leave the dates as is so I don't magically pop to the top of the indef TDY list the moment I declare Sanctuary?

Floater - sorry, I've got nothing on this. The worksheet will go to AFPC/DPS who will cut orders. It's a different office than the lady who cuts retirement orders, so I don't know who it is exactly. I'd plan a month, and be surprised if you got them earlier.
UAL - I've heard both ways. IIRC, initially they were saying that if you took Sanctuary, you're just like everyone else and there's no longer an exception to being hit with a 365. But I think they went back on that, and you're still protected from 365s because those were the rules you came back in under. I'd advise emailing the Recall Shop directly to confirm.

Kikuchiyo,
Thanks anyways. Appreciate all the info you are able to pass along throughout this whole process.

Anybody else coming up on a regular separation from this program that can shed light on the timeline you dealt with? Thanks.

Ah, okay. They are looking at the potential mass exodus, and the numbers have them convinced that it won't be that bad for rated overall. I don't particularly agree with their analysis.
They're completely focused on the 11F shortage. The bonus was the tiniest piece. They're making pretty significant changes in force structure, unit missions, FTU syllabi, etc. The problem has not recently been retention. The problem was caused by a lack of FTU and absorption capacity due to the 2nd and 3rd order effects of BRACs.

I read it. Geared toward the fighter pilot and RPA billets, but does make a brief mention of the overall shortage. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but when I talk to my squadron, they're hurtin', and I called out to the FAM at AFPC, and he said we'll be short 20+ pilots in the HC this summer alone. The pipeline isn't pumping out nearly enough as it is. Why are they only extending the fighter guys?? It takes 6-7 years to train someone from scratch to IP in my airframe, not to mention the millions of dollars involved. Hard to believe they're saving very much by releasing us when we cost nothing in training or PCS funds.
