Default VSP Intentions??

The VSP window apparently opened 1 March and closes on 31 March. I haven't seen it, so I can't even say who it applies to, but what are your intentions if it does apply??

Default It's out there

Air Force VSP / RIF memo briefed to us by commander yesterday. It is by year group, not AFSC (kinda). Pilots eligible in year groups 2000, 2003, 2004, and I think 2005. Money being offered approximately equiv. to 1 year pay for VSP, slightly less if u get RIF. Window for VSP closes 31 Mar 11. Ask your commanders for details.

weren't they just begging for recalls? I know, I know - it's all about the yeargroup, but if the AF was a corporation the CEO and head of HR would have been fired a long time ago

Unfortunately my year group isn't eligible, or else I'd have applied as soon as the clock struck 0001 on March 1st.

Lots of people applying from the KC-10 community. Will be interesting to see if AFPC has a quota on how many people they let out from each AFSC (if any... part of me still thinks they didn't prevent 11x's from applying just to make it look like they were being "fair" to all AFSCs... only to not actually let any 11x's leave). The big concern amongst those applying is what happens if they aren't allowed to VSP. Did they just identify themselves as "not a team player/ koolaid drinker" and thus set themselves up for the next UAV to Clovis or Grand Forks?

It's really vague compared to the last time. For LAF it's O3's from 2003-2005 and O4's from 2000 are VSP/RIF eligible.

Unlike the last round, there's no matrix of x number in this AFSC out of this year group.

Pay is the same formula except multiple is only 1.25.

PM an email and I'll send the slides. Really not a lot to see though. Playing cards close to the chest and I have no idea why.

Log on to AFPC secure from your gov computer and search for PSDM 11-21. It gives the RIF details and the eligible year groups. Anyone who is eligible for the RIF is eligible to apply for VSP. No public word on percentages of AFSCs or secretly "non-eligible" AFSCs, so it seems to be a free-for-all.

The thing that drives me crazy is that the clown in the 2002 year group with a DUI and an Article 15 will be allowed to remain in the AF while good dudes in the 2003 group may get RIF'd.
