Default It helps.

It will most certainly help. That will be FAR 121 time, and most likely glass cockpit. It shows your dedication to flying for an airline. Success in training looks good as well.
Consider the fact that when you get to the majors, your fellow pilots will respect you for having gone through this. The common core of experience between you and other pilots who flew at regionals.

I've been trying to tell the guy it's NOT going to hurt him to go to a regional for some 121 experience and fix some possible currency issues. Not only in this thread but another one as well.

Reading comprehension much
I'll take my experiences and bank account over your reading comprehension any day.

Sorry xjetguy, I did read. I think they care. My opinion only. Knock yourself out.

Comparing how much you make, classy.

Challenge accepted. Did you read how I quoted him? Again, reading comprehension fail, on YOUR part.

Pitts is under the impression that on his resume, in chronological order they will see the most recent job (regional) and stop. Not bothering to go farther down to his mil experience. So when I said "they don't care", I said they won't care that the regional is on there. Hence it's not a hinderance. It'll ONLY be a positive.

Sorry to have to draw you picture to possibly help you figure it out. Maybe your bank account distracted you?

But go ahead, "knock yourself out" brother.

Would GA flying work to maintain currency?

I don't see why not. It's not 121 time but I presume the QOL instructing in a semenhole @ AllATP is better than commuting to RSV lines @ a regional, for the same or less money no less. But that's from my perspective of wanting to be home more rather than less. To me, if you already have 1000 TPIC and ME-turbine time of any kind, then eff the regionals. Just putz around in pistons until the majors open the supposed window; That's of course assuming you don't have the Guard/Reserve available to you. I would prefer that over the regionals for the tread-water option.

Not as well as professional turbine flying, but it's better than nothing.

Well, found a Part 135 charter gig and going to take it since it is local, better pay than the regionals and no commuting. Also in the process of getting back into the guard or reserves. Even though financially I could afford to go to the regionals, I decided not to sell my profession short by taking those wages. I figured my experience would equate to a 10 year regional captain/check airman, and doubt those guys would want to go hang out again and be a year one FO anywhere either. Nothing against the regionals, I just don't want to start back at square one after having the experience that I have. Hopefully more experienced pilots will pass on the regionals and they will realize the pay is the issue and fix it, but that is not going to happen.
