Didn't make it all the way through the posts, but wanted to also highlight Accessible Aviation right near Columbus AFB. Not only is the program pretty good, but they practically invite you into their home. It's been awhile since I've been there, but I've still heard good things.

In most instances, if you're using your GI benefits for an ATP, you're wrong.
Go shell out the 3k for an all ATPs and save your GI bill for the kids (or future kids). GI Bill rips you off for flight training.
+1 for all ATPs KGKY.

Agreed that it's probably not the most efficient way to use your GI Bill, but you're assuming that there will still be a GI Bill to give to your kids in 15+ years.

Just did the practical at Arlington with All ATP. My examiner was thorough and fair, with a reasonable knowledge portion and a flight right out of the practical test standards. There is a second examiner there that was giving a really ridiculous oral (sts) test, asking questions that nobody that's flown a Seminole twice would be able to answer (what do the springs that hold the gear down look like ) .
The instruction wasn't great. My CFI did not know the ATP profile, so we ended up wasting time doing stuff that wasn't on the check ride. He wasted so much time on the ground prior to the flight (6 hours ) that our second flight was at night. Their experienced instructors appear to leave as soon as they get hired somewhere else. Maybe I'm just used to a different quality of instruction from the military. The ground school was non existent, and you're forced to memorize their Seminole supplement completely on your own.
Ultimately, the check ride is not difficult, even for a fighter guy. If you're in Dallas, Arlington would work. There's no reason to prioritize it though-I was not impressed.

Hi all, I did my ATP practical this summer through University of Central Missouri (east of Kansas City), cost was around $2800. The Fee included ground school and 2 flights in a Seminole with a former Mil AETC guy and then a check. The check ride was low stress and big picture. Highly recommend them if your in the Midwest.

It was a low stress operation. Two days of ground instruction with a flight each day in the TravelAir. BE-95. For $20 you can stay at the field, own room with wifi hook up. Just over 3 grand, but they are there to help you make the conversion to piston Multi engine. Plus Sanders has a fully stocked bar above headquarters. PM me for more details and contact information.
