Using the USO?
Thoughts on using the USO lounge if you're killing time in the airport while at work? Does that answer change if you're travelling for leisure? With the family (non-rev)?
I'm assuming showing up in (airline) uniform would be a no-go...?

I go when on leisure. Not in uniform ever, once I tried to go to the PHL one when traveling on military orders and my significant other was jumpseating with me in uniform (airline). The guy flipped out on us and made us leave. So rude

I probably wouldn't go there in an airline uniform or while I was actually working for an airline.

Occasionally, donors who are veterans or military retirees contact us to tell us they couldn’t get into a USO airport facility because they didn’t have an active military ID card. We’ve thought about this a great deal, and as much as we’d like to open the doors to all those who have honorably served their nation and risked their lives for our freedom, we just don’t have the resources. We hope you will understand that we must focus our mission on serving the needs of those who need us most – active duty members of the military and their families. For 70 years, that’s been our mission.

I have never used the USO while traveling in a civilian or other capacity than active duty. Now having seen and benefited from the work the USOs do for our active duty members overseas as a deployed reservist, I will continue to donate to the USO and only utilize them when I'm on orders or mobilized.
