It's got nothing to do with service members or crew members....men will be men no matter WHAT their station in life. Americans are such puritans....

Or maybe we do have a problem in the selection process, not sure which it is.
Not the 'warrior' argument...Really?

This is what's wrong with our current political approach to the military. They attempt to pigeonhole the military as simply another flavor of civil servant. Were you disappointed when Hagel (combat vet marine) canx that drone-pilot super-hereo medal that was supposed to rank above the bronze star and purple heart?

You're probably on the wrong forum with this. I'll be happy to create a UAV forum if you think we need one here.

What woman doesn't want a general?

...The state where the women committed adultery decided to prosecute them?

Not always rickair7777.
Here in Oklahoma for example - adultery is a crime.
I doubt you nor I have looked into the particular statutes of the states where each of these people lived to make that determination.

In any case - my comment wasn't about the legality of adultery in a military -vs- civilian setting in which you are incorrectly trying to frame my response to LNL, but rather an attitude that it is all about the "little head" without giving equal consideration to the nether regions of both parties involved.
ALL military members have the obligation not to discredit the service (Article 134), not just senior members. I would just expect such senior officers to have gained the level sense that comes with experience where some young PFC or 2ndLt might not have had the years of experience to yet draw from in thier lives.

LNL - men being men huh?
Guess I can generalize that those women were just being women too?
In the end I'm actually agreeing with you, but I'll point out the behavior on boths ends of the 'two to tango' fiasco.

Current political approach - please explain? Politics is new to the military? Who is trying to make military another flavor of civil servant?

I wasn't disappointed. It was an absurd idea...

Here's another additional detail. By and large, in our society men are the aggressors. In a DOD 1,400-page annual report, data showed 2,949 reports of abuse against a service member last year compared with 1,275 in 2004. The vast majority of victims (88 percent) were female.

So, with respect to sexual impropriety, men are by far the problem.

Yes....I'm well aware of many of the type of sexual assault cases amongst our military services. Many of the ones I come aware of are the he said/she said type of sexual assault/rape cases reported, many not pursued as has recently made national news. Many of these have no factual basis to charge either of the military members with misconduct yet still get counted for in the sexual assault numbers.

Men and women have plenty of blame to share in many of these examples. In the examples which started this thread, and on which the LNL's original comments and my responses were formulated, didn't have anything to do with sexual assault but rather consensual sexual relationships.
