I worked for Insitu a little over a year after I spent about 4 years at other (large) defense contractors doing the UAV thing. Insitu has been the best company I have ever worked for, and even though I am "living the dream" flying a manned aircraft now, I sometimes regret leaving. The money was good, the company was great. By the time I quit, I had 9 deployments to the sandbox under my belt, so I was burnt out. I would give it a serious look if your ok not being in the air, and comfortable being deployed.

My guys were with me for four or five months at a time. They worked an eight hour shift each day, seven days a week while we were there. The work itself was boring. We would stare at a video screen full of sand for 12 hours at a time, and would maybe see something noteworthy for about 15 minutes of those 12 hours. We were on a small COP, so there isn't anything to do while you aren't on shift, so guys would hang around the hut while they were off duty and talk, read, play video games, etc.. Like any deployment, it's what you make of it. We grilled out almost every night and had Wii bowling tournaments in our off time. It could be completely different depending on your location, OIC, or lead Insitu guy. I never asked for specifics on pay, but everyone was happy with the money they were making while we were in Iraq.
