Ya, a loan talk that somehow drifted off to the discussion of a career and how useless flight training is. Then arguing someone else's career that we dont even know

Ok...Lets talk loans. I didn't take one for my school - Tuition assistance and AFROTC POC program paid for it in full.

How do you get an loan for flight training? Can I get one thru USAA or do I have to go thru a 'flight academy' bank?

I want you to listen to me very carefully: at no point did he ever say he got an aviation bachelor's and an accounting master's. He got an accounting bachelor's. You're imagining things. Either that or you're thinking of ME--I'm nearly done with an accounting master's, because my aviation bachelor's is useless.

Most schools will offer you a form from a company that they work with that'll fianance you for the complete training/ (i.e. Sallie Mae & The Ban Of America)

I'm going to be starting on my MA in Military History next year. I can't wait - been a while since I spent time with old friends like Rommel, Lee, Grant, Sherman, Stonewall Jackson, etc... I miss their company...

Its a useless degree unless I decide to teach at a community college but it fills my heart and mind with joy...To each his own...

I'll research it more as the time approaches...I want to go thru my bank for one - USAA. At the end - the interest rate will determine the bank I go with...

Sallie Mae offers "Carrer Training Loans."

Golden Flyer, BoA offer's these sorts of loans as well? I already do all my financial business with them, and would like to try to keep everything under one roof if you know what I mean. Any links?

My point is that you might make incredible sum of money in aviation, but most likely will not. If you were to buy a home instead at least you would have a roof over your head and a growing asset to sell later. The odds are significantly against being able to earn back the price of training. Therefore aviation is becoming more of a working hobby and less of a real job. I you are on a Life quest then by all means have at it. Perhaps you could become a street mime for retirement?
