Good morning folks.
Can anyone pass along their experience with Harvey Watt & CO? I am searching out additional term life and their rates appear to be significantly cheaper than the well known companies such as Predential, NY Life etc. The underwriter is ReliaStar which I never heard of. I was surprised when the Prudential agent told me that most companies will not offer their top tier preffered rates regardless of your health. They consider us a higher risk simply for being an airline pilot.
Thanks in advance for any input

The risk with unknown companies is if they go out of business.

My most recent experience was that it was not being a pilot that was a problem, it was the international flying.
They will ask about employment, which is how the flying thing comes up.
AIG, who I had been using, pointed me towards Harvey Watt. So far it was worked, but all that means is that they take my money. My wife has not yet tested the process of claiming benefits.

When I retired from the National Guard, a friend helped find a $250,000, 20 year, term policy from First Penn Pacific Life Insurance Company. They did ask questions and were of the nature of how often did I train, was Comair Part 121 or 135 and what certificates I held. My policy is $400 annually.
BTW, First Penn Pacific is now part of the Lincoln Financial Group.
