As Inspector Clouseau would say: “Not anymore...”

83 hours of duty and only 23 hours of flight time. Pretty much the new par for the course.

The newer mid-size cabin aircraft will actually fly so much more per tour that they will probably make up the pay differential and then some.

It sure isn’t happening in my fleet so far. Either one.

What are the work rule changes? To me it seemed that it was merely compensating for the same practices they do already.

The union says there are now financial “disincentives” to retarded scheduling practices and that will magically improve QOL across the board. In my case at least, somebody in Scheduling didn’t get the memo...

Well yea but those aren't work rule changes, which is why scheduling still does what scheduling does.

Now that the company is overstaffed again (they reduced hiring and upgrades) due to the IBI18 it seems the agreement did in fact "address hiring and retention" issues contrary to the NJASAP rhetoric.

Exactamundo.

Reducing head count was always the primary goal of both CBA15 and the IBI.

And it worked both times.

Exactly as I called it. Seemed obvious to me. Absolutely can do more with less, and once the company gets even more over staffed, the second phase will start, and that will be reducing flight hours so the pay drops back down.

My experience regarding the new IBI18 from the Phenom:

1. Flying and schedule changes have decreased significantly, allowing for a better QOL on the road.

2. Overtime has gone away, in some cases replaced by FDPP (mostly for night duty). I may not make more money with this new contract because of that.

3. I'm concerned for the future. Once again I think the pilots accepted mediocre short term gains for an agreement which long term will result in a poor QOL with inadequate inflationary adjustments and weaker leverage. Working here 2015-2017 was miserable, all thanks to CBA15. I assume that misery will return because not only are the root causes not fixed, it's not even politically correct that they can be addressed.

4. Ironically, the (apparently) large amount of pilots that weren't pulling their own weight (fatigue, DNIF, write ups, etc.) have actually, in my opinion, destroyed future leverage. Our Union won't negotiate in Section 6 and we have a large group of self serving pilots that are willing to significantly change their behavior for what amounts to a modest increase in "performance" money.

These are cultural issues which can't be fixed.

They did? Last I saw was another 7 upgrades awarded for the month.
