Default Is NJ Really Hiring at 1500?

Hi,

I'm a CFI with ATP mins (no written or CTP), and have been invited to a fair in December. I understand I need to have the CTP and written done to even interview, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows of 1500 hour pilots being hired? It seems like a great opportunity but want to know there's a chance before I invest the ~$5k in a CTP course, hotels, and written.

Thanks!

Yes they are. As long as you can check all the boxes to meet minimums, then they'll take you as long as you. The bigger question is do you have what they're looking for in terms of customer service and "Can I spend a week hanging out with this person and not go nuts?"

I know of a newly minted 1500 guy who just got a yes and I’m sure he is going to do well. And you do not have to have the the written done prior to interview, it just has to be done prior to Indoc.

Good luck! I’ve been told by multiple people that should you get the invite to an Expo, carry some confidence in that you have an offer coming your way and that they’re serious about you. I was also told by a current FO while I was up in TEB before, that if it does not work out the first time, and you still want it, to wait for the window to open up again, and go at it again, and that he was proof of that.

Thanks! The HR person has been very adamant that despite what’s on the site, the written has to be done prior to the fair “to give you the best chance possible”. I’d love if it was just pre-training since that’s lower risk (versus paying to interview) but I guess it’s worth it at this point.

Yes. But please read the other forums to learn about life at NJ before you decide. At this time, it's very difficult to view NJ as being a better career move than even a regional. Choose wisely, seniority everywhere matters.

Thanks! I have read up a bit on upgrade times, hours, etc. I'm changing careers and applied a bit late to regionals, so I have one interview scheduled but I don't LOVE the bases I'll have to be at to start/for the first year or two. Not word from others, assuming they're all backed up.

The thing that appeals to me about NetJets is the home basing, set schedule (though 7 days sounds like it could be rough at a time), but really just figured I should parallel path and explore as many options as I can. Now wondering if it's worth waiting until post-regional interview to see what their timing is like. The problem is I'd have to get into a CTP class this month to make it to the hiring fair next month and classes are super full.

We are hiring at 1000 hours ( meet ATP-Restricted) and 50 MEL. Started last month that I know of. Supposedly the 2 hired did very well in the sim eval.

I believe the number hired at 1,000hrs for the Nov class is large. I don’t know the number, that’s just the impression I got, was a big chunk of low time pilots.

Maybe they are testing the water to see how the training plays out?

ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training

So no, they'll give you two months to get it done if you get hired.

It's so weird, I specifically asked her if I had to have it prior to coming to the fair (versus prior to indoc) and she said it had to be done for the sim eval? Maybe different recruiters have different answers...which would be unfortunate if true, since I didn't attend the last fair due to not having the ATP done
