If your goal is to go to the majors, no.

If your goal is to never commute again, a very qualified perhaps.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for, thanks!

Back in 2008, they mostly hired 121 guys. I am not sure what it is like now, but I am a former 121 Captain/IP.

In 2007 and 2008 there were lots of 121 guys getting hired (probably the majority).

If you come here expecting a Part 121 lifestyle, you will not like it. If you come here hating the multiple changes over the course of a day, you will not like it. If you come here expecting to sit in the cockpit and do nothing else, you are not going to like it. If you like flying in the back of an airline, you are not going to like it. (Worse part of the job) If you like hanging out in airport terminals versus some little backwater FBO, you will not like it.

If you want to actually talk to your customer, you will like it. If you enjoy the frequent change in schedule, you will LOVE it. If you enjoy chilling out at an FBO BS'ing with the old timers...you will like it here.

This is not the airlines...and hopefully will NEVER be like the airlines. If it becomes like that, I am out. This is a different way of thinking and flying...you gotta be all in.

Default Gateway Cities

Is there a published list of gateway cities? I read in an earlier post there are about 100, just curious if a move is required should the offer to interview arise. How far may one live from an approved city? Thank you

There is, but I don't have a way to post it here. Shoot me a PM and I'll check for you (might be tomorrow before I can look).

No restriction on distance from base, but there are caveats on times you will have to notify if you exceed a certain travel time or distance from base. Keep in mind you WILL have an early show from time to time and a two hour drive is going to hurt. I still have scars from it. 0430 show, 0600 airline. That two hour drive meant a 0200 wake up, two leg airline, then a transcon. That scenario isn't often, but it will happen on occasion.

This 100 base nonsense is also a non-starter in the next contract. It's HBA for everyone or I'm a no vote.

It looks like the company doesnt care if negotations get started. What do they care? As someone on the outside looking in, isnt the payscale frozen? Longer they wait, the better for them.

Well they are negotiating now... Yes the payscale is essentially frozen, and talks could drag but negotiations are underway.

We're getting closer, but I don't think it will happen very soon. I also don't think either side budges and we shut the place down.
