Damn girl !!
Why so negative all the time?
If you are really as unhappy here as you say all the time ,why don't you find another gig?
Everybody is hiring ,nothing holding you back.
Why waste your time and career trying to change Netjets.
Go somewhere you would feel appreciated.
Life is too short .

This isn't about me being or happy (or unhappy). This is about getting the correct information out there to perspective new hires so that they know what they're really signing up for. There really isn't a good reason for any self-respecting pilot (unless you have some sort of criminal/DUI/violation history) to apply to work here, despite the rhetoric to the contrary.

If however, you do have some sort of severe blemish preventing you from getting a real job, then welcome to Underachiever Central! You'll fit right in.

I'm sorry you are so unhappy, and I'm not being snarky, or facetious, seriously I hope you find a place that makes you happy.

You still didn't answer the question.

Everybody is hiring.

I will badmouth Netjets as much as anyone alive.

That being said, when it comes to limiting or helping with getting a job at the majors, it cuts both ways if you are someone looking to come to Netjets as a stepping stone:
NJA hurts you in that non-121 is looked down upon.
NJA hurts you in that you'll not get any PIC time.
NJA hurts you in that the type rating you get does nothing to enhance your resume.
NJA hurts you in that you log less time here than at a regional/national airline.

NJA helps you in that you will have diverse flight experience.
NJA helps you in that you (should) get excellent customer service experience.

Why?
This is not the military, anybody who doesn't want to work at netjets is free to put out resumes and leave. Everyone I know that has applied at the legacy carriers has been getting invites for interviews.
Delta is hiring 1200 guys in the next year,UPS is hiring 300 next year.
All of the big carriers are hiring similar numbers.
Quit *****in and move on....

Already gave my notice and heading to SWA, so why don't you $TFU.

I gave a fair assessment on the pluses and minuses of the impact Netjets will have on your career moving forward. Your anecdotal evidence of "everyone" you know getting legacy interviews means absolutely jack squat since we don't know what other experience they have.

Maybe I want people who are thinking about coming here to know as much about their future prospects as possible. If you think that I mischaracterized the points presented, why don't you respond to that?

My comment about badmouthing Netjets is in regards to actually working there. No rose-colored glasses from me, nor the need to defend my job and career choices like so many on this board and especially the Union MB.

Congrats!!!!! Your points were right on, and are echoed by the majority of FOs here. My entire class is on the first ticket out.

NetJets is the land of disenfranchised misfits who worked for garbage commuters 15 years ago, so they think that gives them leverage to comment on the modern airline industry and compare it to NetJets. Your chances of leaving NetJets and wanting to come back are just about zero lol.

I hope you are able to get out. I spent too long here hoping for a good contract and was absolutely shocked at what we SETTLED for.

As for a lot of the captains. People came here when they were furloughed or the industry was in the post 9/11 swoon or shoddy 134.5 outfits. No one leaves a legacy to come work for Netjets. I don't think we even have a single pilot from Spirit, Allegiant, or even Frontier.

Netjets took a lot of people who were down on their luck and made them comfortable with Home-basing and just enough money (if you are a captain or senior FO) to not leave. And now that they've been captains for 15 years they act like their S doesn't stink and that we should just suck it up and be FOs for 20 years because "it's all about timing" or if we don't like it "we should just leave".

When it comes to this thread and people who are applying for a job at Netjets, the opinion of a captain or even a returned furloughee doesn't matter bc they haven't been in the position of the new hires recently enough to have any sort of idea of what they are getting into. The only group that should be speaking for what NJA will be like for applicants are the post-furlough new hires. And we are dying to leave and ecstatic to get out.

And to be fair, a lot of captains at SWA are very similar in the sense that pre 9/11, if you went to Southwest it was one of those "why, do you have a DUI or something?" for a good number of pilots. But now they all act like it was their incredible foresight that steered them to SWA and their S doesn't stink either.
