You're saying that lots of people are in fact leaving (yourself included) which would therefore result in quicker upgrades right?

I'm confused.
Really? You're confused by this? Do you know how a seniority list works? The folks leaving are all too junior to ever upgrade, and when they finally realize that, they leave. The ONLY ones staying are the Captains (including some junior captains), and they're staying for many many decades...NJ now has three 80 year old captains. Therefore, the ones who need to leave to spur upgrades, are in fact, not leaving. The ones who have absolutely no effect on upgrade times, are leaving. This is called "churn" as the bottom 500 numbers are constantly turning over. Upgrade time for a new hire: NEVER.

Not being a Richard, just a legit question.
Um, how would a FIRST OFFICER leaving help upgrade times?

The fossil CAPTAINS are not leaving, except for the morgue. Ergo, NO UPGRADES.

Mix one part shrinking seniority list, two parts no mandatory retirement, add a dash of no growth, and sprinkle in some crappy contract provisions and you have a recipe for a new-hire crap sandwich.

It’s very simple unfortunately. The company isn’t growing, it’s shrinking. It’s measurable, it’s quantifiable, and it has been said by the DO. Having FOs leave does nothing for upgrade times if the ones leaving have been hired within the last 2-3 years. Hell since the recall, they have hired less than 200 people. They have lost more than that. Seniority gets worse for those on the bottom of he list because the company is just letting attrition take place naturally, barely hiring, and the most junior hires are seeing the writing on the wall and bailing.

Some captains are leaving but not in droves. They are the ones that need to leave, and they aren’t.

I also have an interview in a couple of weeks.

So just to stay on topic for a min. trying to get my bearings and get prepared.

1 Phone screen/interview (TMAAT, check ride failures etc....btw I was told XLS or Phenom based on demand) (done)

2.Get invitation to come to CMH for a 2 day interview process (done)

3. Complete a Emotional/Intelligence test online prior to the interview. (done)

Does anyone have info on the NEW day 1 and day 2 process, reading through the thread it looks like its less Technical now and more customer service focused, is this the case? I also heard the Sim portion is gone and has been substituted with a CEO/COO or upper management interview, is this the case?

Any new info appreciated!

Thanks.

Take your free trip to Columbus.
Go get Harvest Pizza in German Village.
Get Jenni's Ice Cream in the Short North.
Try and talk to some FOs that are in town for recurrent.
Find a different job.

If you are less than 6 feet tall, make sure you can fit into "skinny jeans" for the Phenom seats up front.

So sarcastic unnecessary nonsense aside, upgrade time is long because junior FOs are leaving because they can't upgrade, but captains are not leaving, or retiring because they don't have to.

Thanks for the clarification.

The only reason I disagree with this, is that without certain people posting here anymore, you have to take a job at NJA so you can see the crap they post on the MB. I’m so fortunate to have friends still there who give me my union message board fix to watch the insane banter. I’m not even kidding, I would pay union dues if I got MB access.

You forgot shrinkage. They are reducing total fleet size by 20 aircraft. No plans to expand in sight.
