I think you did well then. That's why I asked the question, as it's not something that was on the sim ride when I interviewed, or something you'll encounter on other sim rides.

Best of luck to you. From what I've heard newhires will be going into the Brazilian Buttplug, XL and some into the Hawker. They've also been putting recalled guys back into the X, Falcon and Sovereign. All the frames pay the same, but if you want longer flights, avoid the XL and Phlegm if possible. A friend in the XL says it's the best paying regional job out there. He hates it.

I fly an XLS right now, and doing 5 legs a day for 7 days sounds absolutely brutal. That's why it might be nice to fly something bigger.

Remember the way the fractional model works is owners can be upgraded but not downgraded in most circumstances so the bigger the plane the more you fly. It varies wildly but the average revenue flight for the falcon is only .3 longer than the xl. I know the new hire class of four a few weeks ago were assigned aircraft the first day of class as were all the furloughed guys and for several of them it even changed between indoc and flightsafety. Flexibility is the key at NetJets so for those who interview I would make no mention of desired aircraft. Just my two cents

Furloughed guys had been getting their assignment prior to returning. Hopefully that hasn't changed. No offense, but if a new guy is sitting in indoc with me and gets assigned the Hawker while I draw the Phlegm, I'm going to be ****ed.

Things of that nature are the way NJA is operating these days, however.

The bigger the aircraft, the fewer legs in a day in my opinion. You're hard pressed to do 5-6 legs a day in a GIV

Happens more than you think. I had an entire seven day tour flying non Gulfstream owners in a G-550. All upgrades. 12-14 hour days, 4-5 legs a day, all CONUS.

Exactly! We are simply trying to cover all the flying at this point so if you have a good plane and crew you will be flying!

Several in my class were told to expect certain planes and then it changed for just about everybody on the first day of class. There are about 15 furloughed below me that got the Falcon. Depends on what you care about but the best bet is to be in a growing fleet if you want the best relative seniority for vacation and schedule bidding. Under that premise the Phenom is the fleet to be in. Lots of deliveries and lots of new hires coming in underneath you.

Thread drift alert. This page is for interview gouge only please...

In hindsight other than saying "yes sir" I regret not asking about transportation, calling dispatch, etc. we just were not in that frame of mind and only thought it was just a script to get us to go to a different airport. Perhaps that's a kicker that keeps you from getting an offer.

I thought we were there just to see if we worked ok with others and could fly a plane and shoot an ILS... I would think it's understood all that stuff can be taught in Indoc.

At least I hope so!

By the way: I think that guy in the lobby was a South Pole Elf ;-)

In other words: obviously after IOE those things would just be second nature...
