Rarely do I post, but I will make an exception for the concern for 7 days out. I certainly understand that if you have been used to getting to sleep in your bed most nights, 7 days seems like a long time.
However, compared against 3 week sortie return dates, 45-day, 90-day, 6-month and year long deployments...7 days is a cake walk I'll take it anytime!

The way I sum it up is:
Take your base 56,875 yr
15days a month x 24hrs a day and the total duty time away is 360hrs
Monthly gross $4,739 divide by 360 = $ 13.16 for each hour your away. Yes 13.16
If you don't have employment its a no brainer, however for someone like myself its not worth it.
I'm out.

18 day training pay starts when you get on the airline to CMH for indoc. You'll stay on 18 day pay until you're no longer on an 18 day schedule. You'll be assigned an 18 day line after IOE, and will bid preferences each month until you're bumped off the 18 fixed schedule during the flush bid (I think-flush bid part).

If you don't like the 18 day schedule there is a LOA that allows you to request a 7/7 line after your sim is complete. They will assign you a line that matches up with a training captain. After your IOE is complete they can move you to another 7/7 line.
No wait on insurance. I think pay begins on day 1 of indoc.

Newhires and pilots in training are on the 18 day training schedule. Basically it means the company owns you outside of required days off, those days being guaranteed off days after training events. After indoc you're entitled to five days off. After aircraft initial you're guaranteed 1 day off for every two days on the road. If you're in a 24 day long initial, you are guaranteed 12 consecutive days off upon completion.
EDIT: I brought up in a previous post that I didn't believe newhires were guaranteed the 1:2 days off after aircraft initial, and was corrected that they were. After looking at the contract, section 19.4(A) on page 146, I believe my initial thought to be correct. This section states initial newhires are guaranteed 5 days off after indoc and 5 days off after aircraft initial training. Someone with access to the contract can look it up for another set of eyes on it, but I'm pretty sure I remember heading out the door again to do 3 bounces around a week or so after aircraft initial.
