However, it is still a great job and waaaaay better than most of the professional pilot jobs out there.
I will not argue with any of that but if you have any desire to ever do something better than NJ and you are currently getting PIC time or will be in the near future I would stay put and wait for the call from someone else. This has become a place where FOs with no PIC come to die and Captains work till they die. Just an opinion of a 9 year FO looking forward to at least 7 more years till upgrade

Yes, guys really do go until they medical out or die. There are very few actual voluntary resignations here (almost none). There are many reasons, but most of them revolve around simple greed. Many don't like golf, or can't stand their spouses. Others just don't know what they'd do with their time at home, but most just really like money...that's it.

Add to that, the average age here is only 50. So in 20 years, it's conceivable that the average age would be 70, with almost no upgrades having taken place (assuming no growth). As you can see, this isn't a career destination for any new hire and probably won't be ever.

Yes. Ask them why they don't pursue a mandatory retirement age despite the FAA's incompetence and utter failure to mandate one (Exxon was able to win in court against the age discrimination argument, so that excuse doesn't work). Then ask them how they expect to attract new talent when zero chance of career growth ever for the prospect new hire. Then go to the United and Delta booths.

A lot of people on these boards have issues ranging from self loathing, to self esteem and beyond, Netjets is what it is, it works for some people , some people are genuinely happy here, and some people will be miserable anywhere. Best of luck , cheers out.

Are there any fleet types that are more sought after/senior than others? Once assigned a type are you stuck there or are you able to move to something else in time?

You will be assigned based on company needs and your size. You are equipment locked for 39months

Thanks for the info. Are there any fleets that go more senior than others? What about as far as comfort goes? Just looking at the 300 it doesn't seem very appealing.
