When youget down and crunch the numbers, the saab isnt that much more expensive to fly. if they want the saab on property, it would be much more cost effective to get rid of tje beech and only hqve to deal with one airframe-just like we did at colgan(until we got the q). Also, the number of seats that we sol increased a little as the larger airplane rolled in. it was more comfortable, had a bathroom, flight attendant, and beverage service. people drool over the small stuff.

Oh dang - its the June 4th class for the Saab. Was worth a try though. *smiles*
Another question - for those of you contacted about being in the class on the 4th, they say HR will be in contact with you about travel arrangements, and other requirements etc., but I haven't heard from HR yet after the initial call to offer me the class. Has anyone else heard form HR yet?

Hi to all current/soon-to-be Silver pilots... I joined the forum to personally thank everyone who has contributed meaningful content about the company and hiring process.
I "shadowed" this thread (without being a member of the forum) throughout my entire application/interview process. It was fantastic to get some insider perspective prior to the interview. The insight into the company was the best... the thread has put to bed some doubts I had, and I'm coming in with an open mind, looking forward to getting to work with some positive folks.
Again, thanks... hope to buy some of you guys beers. I look forward to meeting the other new-hires on the 4th in FLL.

It's so hard being patient with something that I've wanted to do for so many years and is finally in sight, but yet so far away. Someone from my class forwarded me an email from the CP regarding transition for those of us on the beech already:
"The preliminary plans at this time are for transition classes on July 2, July 30 and August 20 to move the people from the Beech to the Saab as a result of the Beechs being taken out of the schedule"
as a recent "...new hire you are seat locked for 1 year or until the next Staffing Bid comes out. The next staffing bid should be out in the near future and the seat lock will be released."
"As it stands now, you are fairly junior and would not hold the Saab at this time......You should be able to make the transition by August depending on the bidding process."
