For those of you wondering about J/S, what to wear, when my travel arrangements will show up and non-rev here os a bit of advice.
You guys going down to training, you will not be able to J/S since you are more than likely not on CASS or have a company ID.
Most airlines don't set up travel arrangements until the last few days, they might over sell a flight but you will bump a paying passenger.
What to wear when non-rev or J/S. You never know when you might need the J/S so dress accordingly, slacks, nice shirt and shoes. Some airlines will put you on first class if it's available so please dress accordingly. Also passengers will see you entering and exiting the cockpit so please present a professional image. When J/S please, please, please ask the captains permission for the J/S (or even if they give you a seat in the back) and thank him for the ride when you arrive. Be courteous to the FAs and thank them for the ride as well, introduce your self and offer assistance if they need it (don't get in the way, just tell her to let you know if you could help with anything... You would be surpassed how the image of a pilot can help the FA with passengers who are being an @$$.
For those of you that say you haven't earned your wings or epaulets... Please understand that you have... You are now a First Officer on a 121 operator, you are being trained on your duties (and your performance will dictate if you will stay with the company) but you are a commercial pilot who is being trained in that particular equipment!
If you have a seat in the back but take the J/S, well it's nice if we don't leave other pilots at the gate trying to get home or get to work. I am not saying don't do it, this is a judgment call but we pilots should look after each other, exempt if the pilot is Cruz, then leave his @$$ behind, ha ha j/k
Also Cruz, chill the heck out with calling people troll and being so defensive... I was making fun of how the GIA thread stayed open but we can never keep the GoJet thread open.
