Just remember in the sim everything is done (manuevers, emergencies, ect) is done at gross weight. When you do the 15% in the a/c you will not so your airspeed will be different and it handles differently when you do your approaches. Just stay ahead of the airplane and you will do fine even a seminole can be difficult if u fall behind.

Everybody hoping to get on here or waiting to start class need to worry less about the airplane and more about getting hired and making it through indoc. To the others, yes it's similar to a King Air, but just because it has it's roots in that line up doesn't mean it's easy to fly. Sure when you have some time in it or anything it becomes easy due to doing it all the time, but it's hardly an easy airplane for anyone new to it and flying. There is a FD and for the most part it does a good job so use it as much as you can. The whole Saab-ATR-1900-Dash which is harder argument is stupid each plane has it's intricacy's Saab's, ATR's, Dash 8's don't have prop levers so does that make them harder than the 1900 that does? It's an airplane learn it fly it be done with it.
They have GNS 400/500 units (Not sure how many have 500's but it's the same unit basically) and we can do GPS approaches up north. As for NDB's we are approved to fly them so whoever your buddy in class is that said were not they're are wrong and tell them they need to study their OP's Manual more.

what is Lol? It's fact isn't it? It's a single pilot airplane besides 121 ops and it's not a transport category airplane. Most T-props out there flying 121 are more complicated to fly like the SAAB 340 and the ATR. What the post that started this conversation was stating was that the aircraft was simple to fly, less BS and more stick and rudder like a Big 172!!! But seems like the new GIA guys are a proud bunch (one can admire that) but they are going a bit over the top sometimes and are making themselves a bigger target, so it's fun to pull their chain.

The Saab is only hard because it is Swedish and they just ran wiring all over the place, even at that it is slow and like a whale. I will say that yes this bunch sounds proud and I would be happy to fly with them. and Cruz is right it is not the 1900 forum it is the Silver Airways forum.

I'm just busting your chops, but it's good at least in my opinion to always be on edge about being here to keep your performance up. The minute you start to think you have it made and you'll be fine is when you fall off. This coming from a major pessimist of course, but I'm rarely let down when it comes to flying. That's my .02 cents worth. One thing you can do to get ready is get a good understanding of NTSB 830. It's not a major item, but worth having a grasp on.
