Yes they are hiring street captain's. Based on the CP information I recieved the minimums for street CA have been raised to 2500 TT and 1000 Multi. but idk if these are hard numbers or desired.

There will be 9 CA and 7 FO's in the June 18th class.

They have been.

I think the next couple of classes have some steet CAs in them.

Qualified CAPTAIN should have a minimum of 2500 hours, with ATP written, 1000 multi-engine hours preferably-part 121 experience. Qualified FIRST OFFICER (SIC) should have a minimum of 1500 hours, with ATP written, 500 multi-engine hours preferably-part 121 experience.

The above is straight from the Silver website. It seems silver has changed their mins over the last 6 months more than any other company. Not too long ago they were just requiring a basic commercial multi for FOs and nothing else. The part I'm confused about is the multi requirement for FOs. Is 500 multi hours required, or just preferred?

That is because they don't want to hire people, train them, and then have to let them go because they don't meet ATP mins.

I'm not familiar with -121 operations to a great extent but I'm confused with the part that requires the CA position to have only the ATP written.
Also Cruz - you say GPS time for your block time? The GPSs I've used in the past, and currently, record wheels off the deck to wheels on deck. For instance I didn't get paid for that ground time in my contract job. I thought -121 guys got paid for the hatch closed to the hatch open (or is it brakes release to brakes set at the gate?).
If so, is the 1hr trip used in the example of "green time" from takeoff to landing I am assuming since it was mentioned that delay were held against you?

Yes, you are right. What I was getting at was, It seemed about 6 months ago Silver aka Gulfstream was struggling to find find pilots, hence the low mins. Not many people were talking about Gulfstream twelve months ago as it had a tarnished reputation probably worse than great lakes. Gulfstream changed their name as they went threw a process of reorganization and they started receiving a lot of attention, especially from this website. Now, their mins are higher than airlines like SkyWest. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the ATP regs, but they probably have a significant amount of resumes on file compared to six months ago due to a lot of the attention they have been receiving from forums and news articles about expansion.

The who concept about having just the ATP written done is because you will get your ATP during your typeride if you are a street CA. As far as the block time, it depends on your airlines, at Eagle we get the out time when the parking brake is released with the main cabin door closed, and the in time when the cabin door opens it registers the last time the parking brake set!
