With American Eagle discontinuing its ATR flying out of Miami, has anyone heard anything about Silver taking some of that flying? It seems Silver would be a perfect fit for that.

MIA base is opening soon not sure on the routes yet most likely banking on eagles atr reductions

I don't think we will be "taking" those routes because all of that flying is flown by Eagle for American. Imagine the silver sh!tshow that would follow if we flew Silver, United, Delta, AND American routes... Id imagine we are more or less coming in to fill a new void in an old market. The SJU base rumors are starting to make sense now...

Has anyone heard anything about future class dates? I interviewed last month and no call. Now I have another offer but I'd rather be flying for Silver.

They slowed down the hiring cause they are just too backed up in training. More pilots are needed but dont want to hire them only to wait in hotel rooms for open sims etc. hiring will continue shortly , atleast this is what I was told a few days ago.

Good luck

Heard basically the same. Not a matter of if there will be hiring in the near future but when and how many. We are very backed up in training and IOE ATM. From what I can tell we should be up to 16 aircraft by Oct. 1st.

I talked to 2 of my buddies, and confirmed with an HR lady on Friday that they aren't hiring at all right now between upgrades of current employees from the B1900 to SF340, and all the current new-hires they are slammed. The HR lady said "we aren't hiring for what seems like quite a while, but we have your internally recommended resume' on file, and it's right in front of me now." . She never told me what to expect, so if you guys have friends in there now... they "SHOULD" have a good idea of what "for a while" means. Only thing I heard from one of my buddies in upgrade training is October sometime is when hiring will begin up again.

Hiring will definitely continue. There's at least 10-15 more Saabs on the way with more expansion planned. I'd say sometime after October would be when all transition training is finished and the sims/IOE will be open for new hires.

I think when TPA and FLL go all the way to saab we might start the hiring again they just need to iron out the training back ups and get everyone through.
