They say all good satire has an element of truth. Looking forward to the weight I will lose this summer in the Swedish Sweatshop thanks to 6- and 7-leg days with 30-minute turns all day long. Good thing the pay is so bad, I couldn't afford to eat even if I had the time!

Why they chose an aircraft without an APU to operate in Florida is mind boggling! The Dash 8 would have been a far better choice! I suppose the Saabs were cheaper by the dozen!

^^^ Exactly. It's cheaper to buy a bobble bottle once, than it is to buy a 12 pack of water at the store every couple days.

So I've been trying to go through all these posts, and it's kind of mind-numbing, so I'll ask a couple questions now.

1) Has Silver dropped the 2-year contract?
2) How long does it take someone at Tampa to upgrade to captain?
3) Does anyone have any idea what kind of seniority you need to get the daily line at TPA?

1) Rumor is that they did drop the two year contract. I don't know this for sure though, purely school house rumor.

2) Tampa is the most senior base. You are looking at years (minimum IMO is 3+) to hold captain there.

3) FO line holder probably 6-12 months. Could be longer though due to the stop in growth right now.

1.) It's not rumor. They did. I did my interview 2 weeks ago, and the guy said "We no longer have a 2 year contract requirement" . No rumor there.

2.) The way bases were explained to me were start from the north and go south. North are most junior, and the further south you go, the more senior it becomes.

3.) No idea...
