Either way I needed one more question right on the written..guess things have a way of working themselves out lol

Good luck to those getting past it all!

You talking about the interview written or ATP written?

love2av8 06-26-2012 09:00 AM

So interviewed today and here's what I was told:
- all captain spots are currently filled and they are only hiring into FO on the 1900
- all 1900's are leaving Florida
- expect to be based in Montana or Cleveland
- there still is a $24,000 training contract
- there is a 12 month equipment lock (no seat lock though)
- per diem is only paid for duty day over 9 hours
- trips up North are mainly day trips
- written test on computer was harder than I thought it would be. Brush up on Jepp plates, holding info (altitudes, speeds, std pattern), radio failure procedures, O2 reqt, etc
- sim is a squirrelly bastard when it comes to pitch. Don't bother with the trim, it just seems to randomly change pitch on you so keep the scan up!
That's all I can remember. Good luck to all!

The written. It was simple stuff I'm sad to say...guess its just one of those days.

I wrote down all I could remember; so if anyone needs it let me know. I had the same info on the interview itself as love2av8

What do you mean it was harder than you were expecting, the things you mentioned above made it hard? I guess I am a bit confused about what made the test difficult?

love2av8 06-26-2012 09:46 AM

Nah the way that some of the questions were worded made a handful of them tricky that's all. Like several had very similar answers and only a word or two different between the answers. I passed it, just not sure about which ones I missed because it doesn't tell you.

has anyone ever re-tested?

Hmm, I'm interviewing on Thursday for a DEC position. I certainly hope not all of the captain positions are full!! There's no way I can afford to live on F/O pay!! I more than meet the mins for Captain.

That sim is designed to do that for that exact reason, to keep your scan going. Not to mention it is run by Windows 95... It's a procedures trainer, you're not expected to fly the thing perfectly. We all dread that thing, but its just meant for profiles. You probably did much better than you think.

I'll back you up on that. It was confusing.
You have to get 80% ! I passed though.
