I believe the last part of that. If all the rest is true, it'll cost the company a fortune in moving expenses. The next staffing bid reflecting hub basing will be effectively a global reset, displacing nearly all of the DECs from last year to the right seat. It may pour gas on the pilot exodus fire. Great news in theory for us senior FOs who got bypassed and are still waiting for our money and a shot at TPIC time, but overall it could be a disaster.

Contract says otherwise. Slowly shifting lines from out stations to hubs is changing staffing levels, and closing a status means they have to run one. There will be many grievances filed to stop the company from doing what you describe, and the lawyers will have lots of fun. I agree that they would love to do it they way you say they will, but they won't get away with it. Re: sections 9.B and 9.D

This company always finds a way to do things their way...... as I recently heard that P.L. once said "We'll do it anyways, so let the pilot group grieve it."

P.L. Was the one who made the decision to do outstation basing in the first place. Convenient that this news comes out right after his departure. I believe that one is the result of the other.
Outstation works for small isolated hubs and when you aren't having a ton of turnover. With the whole operation connected like ours is, it makes zero sense. If they are changing it, it's because of the staffing and scheduling problems they are having NOT for retention or in exchange for something else from the pilot group. Don't be fooled. It was a mistake that has cost them much more in headaches than the hotel costs ever would have. |

They want to purchase additional Saabs (which is great for those of us wanting to upgrade) but are any additional B+s on the market?

No, at least not that I'm aware of. The next aircraft to come on property will most assuredly be something other than a Saab 340B+.
